So let me just get this out the way and say this 1 Reimagined collection really is a piece of work. Fourteen talented women designers at Nike had 14 days to bring forth their renditions of the Air Force 1 and Air Jordan 1 for an exclusive women’s collection. As someone who has been in this sneaker game for quite a bit this collection, or like the Season of Her collection for Jordan, has felt long overdue.
After talking to my pals Maria and Fenna about it, we all came to the same conclusion— why is it now that brands are actually considering us as an important market to target with only female-centric collections, when us women have been in this game just as long as the boys, searching for the same heat they have, without having to sacrifice quality that comes with GS sizes?

It’s disheartening that it is just now we are being recognized, but then becoming invisible again. Fenna made a great point, how is it they release the Season of Her collection then completely forget about giving women the opportunity to buy the Levi’s x Jordan 4s that dropped literally the next day? I agree — it felt like a quick smack in the face again with a “Nah you can’t have these!”
But I digress, this 1 Reimagined collection is quite actually a cool collection and it was brought to life much faster than most are in all reality. Bringing together such a diverse group of women to really make some cool shit for just us females was perfect as Nike continues to focus more on the female consumer. Not only that, they created some firsts with these cherished silhouettes like the tallest stack height ever on an AF1 (12mm), from a new tooling developed for the AF1 Lover XX and AF1 Sage XX, and the first AF1 Mule being the AF1 Lover XX.
Fortunately enough, I did find pairs for my partner in his size because even after discussing this collection and my disappointments regarding it with him he still wanted all parts. We both got the AJ1 Rebel XX, for Valentine's Day I got him the AF1 Rebel XX and then just for me I got the AF1 Lover XX (fit pics when the weather is better) because it was a shoe that really made me fall in love at first sight.
